Since 1853, C. Bechstein Company has been manufacturing some of the world's finest Grand and Upright Pianos. Carl Bechstein, born in 1826, started building pianos in Berlin, after being introduced to the art by his brother-in-law. The C. Bechstein concept of sound and action was developed because of his expertise and understanding of the musical trends of the time.
By the 1890's, Bechstein Pianos were being made in Paris, St. Petersburg, and London. Today, a complete range of pianos is offered by the C. Bechstein company. Bechstein Upright Pianos are also thought to be among the best, some said to produce a better sound than even many Grand Pianos.
