Conover-Cable Piano Company
H.D. Cable, a New Yorker, left his job as a teacher and school principal at Easton Pennsylvania in 1869 to manage the western department of Barnes & Company, book publishers. He developed the business savvy he needed to begin a piano business and in 1890 he partnered with J. Frank Conover, a talented maker of pianos, and together they founded the Conover-Cable Piano Company.
A book entitled "The Piano In America" by Craig H. Roell called Conover-Cable pianos the highest quality pianos to be built in the late 1800's.
In the 1980's, Conover-Cable was purchased by Samick Pianos. The strength, durability, and affordability of Conover-Cable pianos make sure they remain a popular name in the piano world. They are widely regarded as one of the best pianos in the world for music education, since they are designed for constant use.
The piano company has a slogan, "the perfect brand for Australians and the Australian climate."
